BGC Partner’s annual Charity Day, now in its 11th year, giving 100% of their global revenues for the day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and many other charities around the world, commemorating those tragically lost in the New York terrorist attacks on September 11th 2001. The event has raised over $125 million globally since its inception, bringing some positivity each year in the wake of this tragic day.

Over the years, BGC Partners have been supported by stars such as Samuel L. Jackson, Mo Farah, and Joan Collins, alongside royal family members, including the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Public figures and traders do their bit working the phones on the trading floor, raising money for their chosen charities. This year saw a whole host of famous faces including Joanna Lumley, Lindsay Lohan and Pippa Middleton become city traders.

Red Photographic has had the honour of capturing the incredible atmosphere of the BGC Charity day for many years. Not only do we provide imagery for our client BGC Partners but we also syndicate imagery to press. This year within a matter of hours, our images had been published in The Times, Business Insider and The Guardian, to name but a few.

However, the photo that nearly broke the internet was that of Tom Hardy holding a puppy whilst working the phones. This year was the actor’s second appearance at the charity event, returning to represent not one but two charities, Bowel Cancer UK and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Soon after release, the image went viral all over social media, and was even shared by reality TV star, Vicki Pattinson, and of course published on the prestigious Tom Hardy Holding Dogs Instagram page!

BGC Charity Day is a fantastic event to be involved with and a highlight in the Red Photographic calendar each year. To learn more about the day head over to the BGC Partners Website and view more images from the day here.
